Buying milk leads one man from Wales to a £1.000.000 lotto victory

Miracles usually happen when you least expect them, and in Arthur Griffiths’ case an ordinary visit to a local store turned into one of the most wondrous moments of his life. He went there to buy a pint of milk, but came out £1.000.000 richer thanks to adding a Euromillions ticket to his shopping list.

The fortunate 81-year-old purchased the ticket at the One Stop shop in North Cornelly, and scooped £1.000.000 thanks to matching the UK Millionaire Maker code in the Euromillions draw on December 15th. Despite the fact he’s been dreaming of winning the lottery for over two decades, now that it really happened Griffiths is having a hard time adjusting to the fact he became millionaire.

“I don’t think I could get excited about it even now as it hasn’t really hit me. I simply can't believe my luck – I popped to the shop for a pint of milk and came away with a million pounds, which is just incredible,” explained the lucky man.

Griffiths said the news didn’t change his Christmas plans – he spent holidays with his partner Lorraine Rimmer and their families, and it was the perfect time for them to celebrate this amazing victory. Welshman doesn’t want to move, but he may do some renovations on his home after four decades of living there.

“We are determined to keep our feet on the ground. We may buy the better of the two three-piece suites we had our eye on before Christmas. I won't move – we are in a great spot here and while we love to travel, you can travel anywhere from here very easily,” said Mr. Griffiths.
