National Lottery officials spent six weeks franticly searching for a winner of a life-changing £76.000.000 jackpot, but the search is finally over. Andrew Clark came forward to collect this extraordinary prize, after his niece managed to convince him to go through a pile of old lotto tickets.
Despite playing draw games on regular basis, Mr. Clark never checks his numbers right away, and that’s why it took him this long to come forward. His partner Trisha Fairhurst urged him to go through his tickets after someone in the area won £76.000.000, but he just wouldn’t listen.
His nice Louise tried to do the same thing, and Clark eventually gave in after six long weeks. He got the bundle of old tickets from his van, and started to work his way through them. Fortunate builder didn’t know what hit him once it turned out one of the slips was worth £76.000.000.
“It was something of a standing joke that I had all these tickets while there was a local prize outstanding, so for weeks they were on at me to check,” said Clark after collecting his incredible windfall.
This fortunate builder already used some of the money to buy a new home and a couple of new vehicles, but the rest of the money will go towards his family. He wants to use the £76.000.000 prize to create a lifetime of magical moments for everyone around him, so it’s really fitting he came forward to collect it just in time for holidays.
“This Christmas is going to be a quiet affair, but next year will be a different story. Trisha and I have this vision of hiring a big lodge or hotel so that the whole family can get together and swap stories about how they’ve spent their share over the past 12 months,” concluded Mr. Clark.
