Take a look at this year’s winners of National Lottery Awards

National Lottery in the UK funded more good causes than anyone can count, but once a year they find a special way to give a shout-out to the most exceptional ones. UK’s favourite lottery-funded projects were honoured once again during this year’s National Lottery Awards.

2018 ceremony was hosted by Ore Oduba, with stars such as Christopher Eccleston, Michael Sheen and Katherine Jenkins serving as presenters. Once again, the public was in charge of picking the best projects that continue to inspire the whole nation.

Swimmer Duncan Scott made a splash at this year’s ceremony, where he was presented with the inaugural Athlete of the Year award.  His hero and Beijing Olympics double gold medallist Rebecca Adlington was the one to present him with the trophy.

Fiona Coldron, the amazing woman behind the charity “Something to Look Forward To”, received a Special Achievement Awards. Shortly after being diagnosed with incurable cancer, Coldron made it her life’s mission to help out people who are going through the same thing. Her charity provided more than 4.000 fellow patients and their families with meaningful gifts and experiences, giving them something to look forward to beyond treatment dates and test results.

List of National Lottery Awards recipients also includes winners in seven different categories, who made the incredible difference in their target fields:

Arts – Hull City Of Culture 2017

Education – Armistice Cantata

Environment – Polli:Nation

Health – Breast Cancer Care App (BECCA)
