Taxi driver celebrates £24.500.000 lotto victory with his five daughters

Big lotto wins always feel more special when you can share your fortune with people you hold close to your heart. In Amo Riselli’s case this group includes his four siblings, five daughters and nine grandchildren, all of whom will experience a big difference in their lives after his £24.500.000 victory.

The fortunate man from Gloucester scooped this incredible jackpot in the UK’s Lotto draw on December 27th, and came forward to collect it a few days after New Year’s Eve. After checking his ticket at the local store, he ran next door to his sister Lisa’s hair salon and told her he’s about to receive £240.000. The next person he shared the lucky news with was his brother Marco, who noticed Amo misread the prize amount and told him he actually won the jackpot worth £24.500.000.

“I try to get my tickets checked in the same shop. I always say that one day this machine is going to start smoking red hot because I will have hit the big one. I can’t believe that it’s actually happened to me for real,” said the 50-year-old man.

After 12 years of working as taxi driver Riselli is ready for early retirement, but he’s going to miss his colleagues – that’s why he’s planning a big get together for all of them. He also intends to take his daughters to Las Vegas and buy his dream home with a big swimming pool and a Ferrari in the garage.

“I may now be a multi-millionaire but I am still the same normal person I always was, just with a bit more loose change in my pocket. I’m not going to play the lottery anymore, as I’ve already conquered that ‘big win’ – it is someone else’s turn now,” said Riselli.
